PETER & JOHN CO2 Extracted Greenshell Mussel Powder is the protein rich fraction remaining after the CO2 extraction of nonpolar lipids. The Perna canaliculus mussels (mollusc) are harvested from the Marlborough Sounds region of New Zealand. The extracted powder typically contains a minimum of 2% Glycosaminoglycans (also known as Mucopolysaccharides). The CO2 process helps prevent oxidisation of the remaining lipids.
